Katya served as a rehearsal accompanist and pit orchestra pianist for a concert of Kander and Ebb’s The Visit, benefiting the Actors Fund and Vineyard Theatre.  The concert starred Chita Rivera and John Cullum.
Fall 2011
Katya will take part in Playwright Horizon’s Theater School’s NMTC (New Musical Theater Collaborative). Along with playwright James Clark, Katya will be creating a new musical theater piece for college students.

Katya served as the musical director and pianist for “Hatter”, by Becca Anderson and Brandon Gwinn, presented at the NYU Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program’s Summer New Musical Theater workshop.

Katya’s new song, “I get it”, was part of “Alter Ego”, Prospect Theater’s summer intensive for high school students.

Katya has been accepted into the Advanced Class of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theater Workshop.
Summer 2011
Katya will have a residency at the MacDowell Colony in New Hampshire as a theater writer. She will be working on her current project, Poetry and Prose.

Songs from Women on Love and Poetry and Prose will be featured in New York Theatre Barn’s benefit celebrating women composers.  Other featured songwriters include Zoe Sarnak, Julia Meinwald, and Shaina Taub.  The benefit is a fundraiser for an NYTB/Prospect Theater joint production of I Married Wyatt Earp. Katya  participated in York Theater and UCI Satellite Program’s “4@15”
event, where students from University of California Irvine performed her short musical, Pandora’s Inbox.  Other writers included Sarah Wordsworth & Russell Kaplan, Adam Overett, and Matthew Hardy & Robert Maggio.

December 11th-12th, 2010
Katya organized, musically directed, and contributed songs to "SING OUT LOUD: A Queer-themed cabaret" at Temple University. Inspired by the recent LGBT youth suicides, the 'It Gets Better' project, and the Trevor project, the cabaret featured brand-new songs by up-and-coming composers and lyricists. The songs were performed by 27 students from Temple's musical theater concentration. Click the logo for a complete list of writers and performers.

Katya will be conducting and playing Sweeney Todd at Temple University.
September 2010
Katya will be joining the faculty of Temple University’s School of Communication and Theater as an adjunct instructor. She will be teaching Writing Lyrics and Music Theory/Sightsinging, and serving as the musical director for the fall musical.

Katya will be musically directing and playing MuSE Presents The Legend of the Flowers: An evening of four short musicals inspired by the JAMSS project.
